Bible Text: James 1:1-18 | Pastor: Bobby Brooks | Series: James Faith & Works
How we respond to hardships says more about our understanding of God’s nature than the nature of our circumstances.
HEART: Reflect on a time when God brought about something good in your life through something that in of itself was not good.
MIND: How do you tend to handle conflicts and hardships? Reflect on the effect these things tend to have on your faith and character?
SOUL: Read James 1:1-18 this week and ask God to grow in both your understanding of this text and its application in your life.
STRENGTH: Where do you need perseverance and patience today? Ask God to give you the strength to see beyond the circumstance and trust His character.
NEIGHBOR: Who is someone you know that is struggling under difficult circumstances today? Do something to come alongside them in their hardship and let them know they’re not alone.
Want to go deeper? We’ve got two Bible studies kicking off this week where we’ll be studying the Book of James. They’re both on Wednesdays. The first is at 10 AM at Brickhouse Coffee and the other is at 7 PM at the Panera in Oviedo. We’ll be following the same section of texts covered in the sermon so we can go deeper into the text and key in on areas we didn’t touch on in the sermon. Hope you can make it!
